About the event

This event will benefit the diaTribe Foundation , a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people living with diabetes and pre-diabetes and advocate for action. Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood sugar, which is the body’s main source of energy, is too high. Too much glucose in the blood, over time, can lead to health ailments such as: heart disease, eye problems, nerve damage, and kidney disease. Although diabetes affects individuals of all races, African American adults are nearly twice as likely as White adults to develop type 2 diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) the prevalence of diabetes in non-Hispanic Blacks is 11.7 percent, versus only 7.5 percent in non-Hispanic whites. Additionally, a portion of proceeds will benefit the Incommon Foundation, in honor of Joseph O. Ardayfio. Mr. Ardayfio is affected by multiple chronic aliments including diabetes, stage 5 kidney failure, progressive heart failure and nose cancer. Currently Mr. Ardayfio continues to waiting for a match for a kidney donation. Saturday August 6th 2022, in South Orange, ' New Jersey. Come out and experience a night like no other! celebrating life with amazing food and libations representing the amazing country of Ghana. A small portion of the proceeds will benefit Project Monday to help assist with our project for the year and The Ghana Project 2023.
